Anil Konidena has been working in Southeast Asia for over 20 years, with experience across companies such as DHL and Asia Retail for the last 15 years. Outside of his role as the CEO of Landmark Group, he describes himself as an energetic and enthusiastic individual.

His mother influenced him to embrace learning new things, believing that, especially in today’s age of disruptive technology and advancements, there is much to learn. These advancements grant us power over many aspects of the world, extending beyond the current reality.

“The term “brand penetration,” which is assigned to a product’s name, implies a certain narrowness, doesn’t it? That’s why I’m not particularly enthusiastic about personality branding. However, operating across nearly 50 brands in approximately 20 markets, each originating from different countries, provides a diverse range of nuanced utilities and sensibilities for consumers.”

In the supply chain, for instance, there is a clear distinction for various product types. Whether in a mall environment or an e-commerce setting, these factors contribute to the cultivation of diverse sensibilities, addressing distinct needs and occasionally wants. This process of evolving understanding fosters maturity and broadens perspectives.

Supervising multiple nations in the Asia-Pacific region, he demonstrates a commitment to cultural diversity and adapts his approach according to the specific nuances of each country.

“Currently, the biggest names in the world, and I, localize to the cultural requirements. In a defined market, if I’m an international brand, about 50 to 60 percent of the consumption follows globalized trends, while approximately 30 to 40 percent is highly localized. Therefore, the localization of adopting to cultures is pivotal for medium to long-term success for any operator in any of these markets.”

If not in the field of retail and e-commerce, Anil envisions himself dedicating his efforts to his passion for energy management. He previously initiated a startup focused on energy distribution. He believes human exponential human progress is due to the ability to generate, transform and distribute energy which distinctly separates sapiens from other species. Renewables Generation efficiency, leakage management and distribution will define future world model as Renewables can be generated where they are consumed.

Anil Konidena stands out as one of the highly anticipated and thought-provoking speakers set to engage in the forthcoming Retail & E-commerce Summit Asia 2024, scheduled for March 6-7 at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. More esteemed trailblazer awaits so secure your spots now!
